Dreamy Vineyard Wedding in Montreal

While I love being able to shoot in just about anywhere in the world, Montreal has been a city that has popped up over and over in my life (not to mention two near-moves to this beautiful area). When A & D first reached out it was just after one of these almost moves. Considering they found me on a local directory, I didn’t expect they were planning to fly someone out for their wedding photography but after a really lovely Zoom call, they decided we were a fit.

It’s always the personal details that make a wedding for me and A & D had no shortage of them. The hand made wooden arch for their ceremony, the cake and treats made by a dear friend. The moment that really moved me, though, was their personal vows.

A is local to Quebec (the French speaking province, for those not familiar) and D comes from Venezuela. During their vows to each other, they spoke in each others first languages.

Anecdotal insert, I took French for the required number of years for Canadian students and then promptly switched to Spanish as soon as I could. Now, I can’t speak either.

While I could only grab bits and pieces of what they shared, the gesture was beautiful on its own.
